How to find a katha or satsang today
If you are in Vrindavan now and want a discourse today, this is the practical way to find one:
Go to a permanent daily hub. Some places hold discourses every single day, so you do not need any schedule, just turn up (see the table below). ISKCON's daily classes are the most dependable.
Check official channels for anything special. For a specific saint's katha or a festival series, check the ashrams' and speakers' own official websites and verified social media (many announce their current Vrindavan dates there), rather than relying on word of mouth or unofficial listings.
Read the notice boards and ask locally. Ashrams and temples put up banners and notices for ongoing seven-day kathas and satsang series; a quick ask at your guest house or at ISKCON or the main temples, usually turns up what is on this week.
Follow the festival calendar. On and around the big tithis and festivals, satsang is everywhere; if you are planning ahead, time your visit to a festival window (below) and you are guaranteed plenty of katha. See our Mathura Vrindavan tour Packages or message WhatsApp +91 7302265809.
Permanent hubs for daily satsang
If you arrive without a booked katha, you can drop by these for reliable, near-daily discourses. Confirm current timings locally; they can change.
Hub | What is usually on | Good to know |
ISKCON Vrindavan (Krishna Balaram Mandir) | Daily morning Srimad Bhagavatam class and evening Bhagavad Gita discourse, in Hindi and English | The most dependable daily option; English available. Confirm current class times |
Ashrams around Raman Reti (e.g. Fogla Ashram) | Rotating 7-day Shrimad Bhagwat Kathas by visiting acharyas through the year | Watch for banners/notices; dates rotate, so check locally or on official channels |
Shree Hita Ashram (Satsang Bhumi, Gandhi Marg) | Satsang series by Pujya Shree Hita Ambrish Ji when scheduled | Check the ashram's official channels for current dates and times |
Prem Mandir | Devotional audio-visual displays, exhibitions and scheduled lectures | More display/exhibition than live katha; combine with a temple visit |
Another near-daily “katha-like” experience is the Bhagwat Katha at the shri aniruddhacharya ji ashram vrindavan (Gauri Gopal Ashram), on the days Maharaj is in residence, confirm he is present before travelling for it. For temple hours generally, see our mathura vrindavan temple timings page.
When the big kathas happen: the 2027 festival windows
When specific ashram schedules are not published months ahead, you can still plan reliably by tracking the major festival dates, because during these windows almost every temple and ashram hosts continuous kathas and satsangs. A month-by-month guide for 2027 (dates are approximate and tithi-based, so confirm the exact day):
2027 month | Major festival / vrat | What to expect in Vrindavan |
January | Saphala Ekadashi (early Jan) & Paush Purnima | Satsangs kick off the year; notable series at ashrams such as Shree Hita Ashram |
February | Maha Shivratri & Gupt Navratri | Intensive discourses, fasts and special temple recitations |
March | Holi & Holika Dahan (around Mar 21-22) | Peak season: massive cultural-spiritual gatherings, flower Holi and continuous open-air kathas |
April | Rama Navami & Hanuman Jayanti | Ramayana path recitations and Ram Kathas across local akharas |
May | Akshaya Tritiya & Chandan Yatra | Summer darshans (Chandan Yatra at Banke Bihari) with extensive evening satsangs |
June | Nirjala Ekadashi (mid-June) & Ganga Dussehra | One of Braj's most intense days; lakhs do parikrama amid grand water-charity satsangs |
July | Guru Purnima & Shravan Somvar | Huge Guru Purnima parikrama; ashrams host multi-day guru-pujan satsangs |
August | Shri Krishna Janmashtami (late Aug) | The core celebration: the town becomes a non-stop katha venue with night vigils and pravachans |
September | Radhashtami | Celebrated with great fervour in Barsana and Vrindavan; focus on Radha Rani's glories |
October | Sharad Purnima & Navratri | The lead-in to Kartik; Akhand Hari Naam Sankirtan and gathering crowds |
November | Deepavali, Govardhan Puja & Annakut | Peak Kartik: continuous parikramas, community feasts and non-stop public satsangs |
December | Gita Jayanti & Margashirsha Purnima | Winter shibirs, daytime Bhagavad Gita discourses and cozy ashram satsangs |
For exact Ekadashi and festival dates (and crowd notes), see our vrindavan ekadashi calendar and check how busy the town is on our is vrindavan crowded today guide. The biggest, most reliable katha windows are Kartik (Oct-Nov), Janmashtami (Aug) and Holi (Mar).
Renowned speakers to follow
Many celebrated saints and orators give Bhagwat Katha in Vrindavan and around Braj through the year, though they tour widely, so their Vrindavan dates change constantly. Rather than rely on any fixed schedule, follow their own official channels for current dates. A few well-known names people look for:
Pujya Shree Hita Ambrish Ji. Known for his Satsang Sudha series; has held dedicated January satsang series at Shree Hita Ashram (Satsang Bhumi, Gandhi Marg) in Vrindavan. Check his official channels for current dates and timings.
Pujya Shri Indresh Upadhyay Ji Maharaj. Known for Bhakt Maal and Shrimad Bhagwat Kathas; frequently returns to Vrindavan for katha between engagements elsewhere. Confirm his current Vrindavan dates officially.
Morari Bapu. Renowned for his Ram Katha, delivered around the world and often aligning with Vrindavan during chaturmas or festival months. Check his official Ram Katha schedule.
Important: any specific dates, venues or times for these or other speakers change frequently and announcements can be out of date. Before you travel for a particular saint's katha, confirm directly on their official website or verified social channels that it is happening in Vrindavan on your dates. Treat any date you see here or elsewhere as illustrative, not a guarantee.
