Mathura: the birthplace of Krishna

The best order to travel

Either direction works and the best order depends on where you start:

• From Delhi. Many travellers drive to Agra first, at the far end of the Yamuna Expressway about 230 km away, see the Taj at sunrise, then work back north through Mathura and Vrindavan, which are closer to Delhi for the return.
