Kurukshetra to Vrindavan distance: an overview
From Kurukshetra, the sacred land of Haryana where Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita, the town of his childhood at Vrindavan lies about 323 km to the south, roughly five hours by road, most directly on NH 44 joined to the Yamuna Expressway, using the fast expressways to skirt Delhi and reach Braj. Being a medium haul, it is comfortably done in a day, from the land of the Gita to the land of Krishna's childhood. And there is a deep meaning to the journey, for it joins two great chapters of the Lord: the divine teacher who spoke the Gita at Kurukshetra and the playful child who danced the leelas at Vrindavan. This guide gives the routes both ways and how to travel them; and if you would like the drive, the darshan and the e-rickshaw arranged, a mathura vrindavan tour with Experience My India can plan your trip.
From the ground (Gurudutt): I love welcoming my guests from Kurukshetra, for you come from where Kanhaiya gave the world the Gita, its greatest wisdom and you come to where he was a laughing child stealing butter. Two faces of the same Lord, the guide and the child. It is an easy drive of about five hours by the expressways; come and meet the little Krishna of Braj and see how the child of Vrindavan became the teacher of Kurukshetra. Radhe Radhe.

The NH 44 and Yamuna Expressway route is the fastest at about 5 hr 3 min, using the expressways to skirt Delhi; the Eastern Peripheral Expressway route is similar and the Western Peripheral Expressway route a little longer. NH 44, the great north-south highway, carries the first part from Kurukshetra towards the NCR, before the expressways to Braj. Times are approximate and depend on traffic; please check live maps before you set off.
Vrindavan to Kurukshetra: the return

The Yamuna Expressway and NH 44 route is again the fastest for the return, at about 5 hr 9 min; the plain NH 44 is shortest in distance at about 315 km but a little slower. As with the outward drive, the expressways carry you smoothly past Delhi. Treat these as guide figures and check live traffic before you leave.
The route via NH 44 and the expressways
The road from Kurukshetra to Braj joins the great highway to the expressways:
NH 44, the north-south highway. NH 44, the longest national highway in India, carries the journey south from Kurukshetra towards Delhi and the National Capital Region, the first part of the drive.
The expressways and the bypass. From the NCR, the journey joins the Yamuna Expressway to Braj, sometimes by way of the Eastern or Western Peripheral Expressways, which ring Delhi and let you skirt the city's traffic; these fast roads make the drive smooth and quick.
A few practical notes. The expressways are toll roads, so keep your FASTag ready; the drive of about five hours is comfortable and easily done in a day, on good, fast roads for most of the way.
Where the road reaches the Braj end, our agra to vrindavan distance guide covers the approach to Mathura and Vrindavan.
The two faces of Krishna: the Gita and the leelas
This journey carries a profound meaning, for it joins two great chapters of the life of Krishna:
Kurukshetra, the land of the Gita. At Kurukshetra, in his later life, Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, the sublime teaching of duty, wisdom and devotion that is among the greatest scriptures of the world; here he is the divine guide and teacher, the Gitacharya.
Vrindavan, the land of the leelas. At Vrindavan, in his childhood, Krishna was the playful cowherd, stealing butter, playing the flute and dancing the raas with Radha and the gopis; here he is the beloved child, the heart of tender devotion.
Two faces of one Lord. So to travel from Kurukshetra to Vrindavan is to move between the two great faces of Krishna, the teacher of the Gita and the child of Braj; a journey that holds both his wisdom and his sweetness and is beloved of devotees.
At the iskcon temple vrindavan, the Bhagavad Gita is dearly honoured; and the seva kunj vrindavan holds the leelas of the childhood Krishna.
