This 3 Days Mathura Vrindavan Tour Package from Kohima is designed for travelers arriving who want to experience the most important spiritual places of the Braj region in a comfortable time frame. Since Kohima is far from Mathura and Vrindavan, the journey usually begins with a flight to Delhi or Agra, followed by a road transfer into Braj. The itinerary focuses on practical timing so visitors can attend temple darshan without rushing between locations.
From our local experience guiding pilgrims in the Braj region, temple visits here require more time than many travelers expect. Temple lanes in Vrindavan often require walking or e-rickshaw travel, and places like Govardhan, Nandgaon, and Barsana involve village roads and hill temples. The plan therefore keeps a steady pace so visitors can experience Krishna’s birthplace in Mathura, the devotional atmosphere of Vrindavan, and the sacred villages of Braj without feeling hurried.
Details are subject to availability & seasonal adjustments
Comfortable arrival transfer from Delhi or Agra Airport to Mathura, planned for travelers flying from Kohima.
Visit to Raman Reti and Gokul temples, places closely connected with Lord Krishna’s childhood pastimes.
Darshan at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, believed to be the sacred birthplace of Lord Krishna.
Experience the devotional atmosphere of Dwarkadhish Temple and Vishram Ghat along the Yamuna River.
Well-timed darshan at Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most visited temples in Vrindavan.
Peaceful visit to ISKCON Temple and Nidhivan, important spiritual sites in Vrindavan.
Evening experience at Prem Mandir, known for its marble carvings and illuminated fountain show.
Journey to Govardhan, Radha Kund, and Kusum Sarovar, sacred places connected with Govardhan Hill worship.
Visits to Nandgaon and Barsana, the villages associated with Krishna’s childhood and Radha Rani’s birthplace.
These timings are verified by Experience My India's local team as of May 2026. Several temples close 3–4 hours in the afternoon — first-time visitors who arrive during closure windows miss darshan entirely.

Your journey begins with a flight or Train from Kohima to Delhi or Agra.
After arrival, our driver will receive you and begin the drive to Mathura.
Travel time from Delhi to Mathura: approx. 3–4 hours
From Agra to Mathura: approx. 1 hour
After hotel check-in and some rest, begin the first day of Braj darshan.
The first visit is to Gokul, the village where Lord Krishna spent his early childhood.
Important places include:
Raman Reti
A sacred sandy area where young Krishna is believed to have played with his friends.
Chinta Haran Temple
A temple where devotees pray for relief from worries.
Brahmand Ghat
Associated with the story where Krishna showed the universe in his mouth to Mother Yashoda.
Gokul Nath Ji Temple
An important temple connected with the Vallabh Sampradaya tradition.
After Gokul darshan, return to Mathura.
Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple
Believed to be the exact birthplace of Lord Krishna and one of the most sacred temples in India.
Dwarkadhish Temple
A historic temple known for its beautiful architecture and lively devotional atmosphere.
End the evening with a peaceful visit to Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna River.
If timing allows, visitors may witness the evening Yamuna Aarti, which creates a calm devotional environment along the riverbank.
Overnight stay in Vrindavan.
After breakfast begin the temple darshan in Vrindavan, one of the most sacred towns of Braj.
Because many temple lanes are narrow, visitors often reach temples by walking or e-rickshaw.
Banke Bihari Temple
The most famous temple of Vrindavan.
Darshan here follows a special tradition where curtains repeatedly open and close so devotees do not gaze continuously at the deity.
ISKCON Temple (Krishna Balaram Mandir)
Known for its peaceful atmosphere and devotional chanting.
Many visitors spend time listening to kirtan and bhajans here.
Rangji Temple
A unique temple known for its South Indian style architecture, which is uncommon in the Braj region.
The temple complex is spacious and relatively quieter compared to other temples.
Nidhivan
A sacred grove associated with the divine Ras Leela of Radha and Krishna.
Visitors are allowed only during daytime as the area closes before evening according to local traditions.
Prem Mandir Evening Visit
In the evening visit Prem Mandir, a large white marble temple dedicated to Radha-Krishna.
After sunset the temple becomes beautifully illuminated and the musical fountain show begins in the garden area.
Overnight stay in Vrindavan.
After breakfast, drive toward Govardhan, located about 25 km from Vrindavan.
Important places here include:
Govardhan Hill
The sacred hill lifted by Lord Krishna to protect the villagers of Braj.
Radha Kund & Shyam Kund
Two holy ponds deeply respected by devotees.
Kusum Sarovar
A beautiful historic reservoir surrounded by sandstone architecture.
Visitors may also choose to perform a short section of Govardhan Parikrama depending on time and comfort.
Next proceed to Nandgaon, the village where Krishna lived with Nand Baba and Yashoda.
The main attraction here is:
Nand Bhawan Temple
Located on a hilltop offering wide views of the surrounding Braj countryside.
Continue to Barsana, the birthplace of Radha Rani.
The main temple here is:
Radha Rani Temple (Ladli Ji Temple)
The temple stands on a hill and requires climbing steps, but the panoramic view from the top makes the effort worthwhile.
Visitors often explore the narrow village streets and small temples around the hill.
After completing the Braj sightseeing, begin the return journey toward:
Delhi Airport
Agra Airport
Mathura Railway Station
From there you will board your flight or train back to Kohima, completing a spiritually enriching 3-day Braj tour.
Temple lanes in Vrindavan often require walking or e-rickshaw travel.
Monkeys are active near temples, so avoid carrying loose items.
Barsana and Nandgaon involve stairs and hill temples.
Festival seasons such as Holi and Janmashtami bring very large crowds.
Experience My India plans a large number of senior citizen pilgrimages throughout the year. Here is the practical accessibility picture for each important stop on this route.

Ground Truth — FROM SOMEONE WHO DOES THIS ROUTE WEEKLY
Banke Bihari Temple closes the curtain without warning — multiple times daily, for 2–5 minutes each time, during aarti. Most first-time visitors assume the temple is closing and leave. They miss the darshan entirely. Our guide positions you inside before every aarti window so you are never caught outside the curtain.
Arrive at Keshi Ghat before 5:30 AM — the morning aarti begins at 5:30 AM and boats fill within 10 minutes. Visitors arriving at 6:30 AM watch from the shore. Experience My India coordinates your boat the evening before and confirms your seat.
Mathura–Vrindavan road is 11 km but can take 45 minutes — weekend traffic, festival processions, and cattle on the road turn a 15-minute drive into a 45-minute wait. Our drivers know every alternate route and leave buffer time at every stop. We have never missed a temple aarti due to traffic in 8+ years.
Nidhivan is completely closed after sunset — no exceptions — The gates close at 5:00 PM in winter and 5:30 PM in summer. Forest department guards do not permit entry under any circumstances. Plan your visit between 10 AM and 4:00 PM. Experience My India builds this window into Day 1 of every itinerary.

Ground Truth — THE EXPERIENCE NO OTHER OPERATOR EXPLAINS
Most pilgrims describe Vrindavan as the journey they were waiting for their entire life — not because of what they expected to see, but because of what they did not expect to feel. The narrow lanes between Banke Bihari and Radha Raman, walked by pilgrims for four centuries, carry a different quality than any other place in Braj. Pilgrims who visit Vrindavan before Mathura consistently report a deeper experience than those who do it in reverse.
Mathura and Vrindavan are 11 km apart on the same road — not two separate trips. A single well-planned day covers both without backtracking. Our itinerary sequences every stop around temple opening times, aarti schedules, and crowd patterns built from 8+ years of weekly visits. You do not need to research this. We already have.
The timing of each temple visit is not flexible — Banke Bihari has unpredictable closure windows. ISKCON runs on a fixed aarti timetable. Arriving five minutes late means missing the experience entirely. Experience My India has timed every stop across thousands of tours. Your guide knows exactly when to leave each temple to reach the next one before it opens.

This area is our home. Our daily routines involve these temple lanes and ghats, unlike where we work or have leisure time. That is why our Three Days Mathura Vrindavan Tour from Kohima has been developed with care, considering where we will stop, how long we will take to pause, and the best time for us to not be in a hurry.
Because of large numbers of people on foot in the city, there is a prohibition against all types of vehicles in the streets of Vrindavan, which is the norm here. We will chauffeur you through the area via e-rickshaws and i) walking distances so that you experience Vrindavan in a more personal way than if you were to see it from afar.
For Vrindavan, monkeys are real. We don’t mean to scare you, rather, we plan on preparing you. The way we advise you to always secure your sunglasses and personal items are based on experience instead of theory. By remaining aware, we prevent minor occurrences from becoming major stress-inducing events.
You have 3 options to access the Dwarkadhish Temple as there is no road connection available for vehicles, either by taking a boat (fee between Rs 50 - 100 per person) or a rickshaw (fee between Rs 10 - 20), or by walking.
Parikrama traditionally occurs on foot around Goverdhan because we honour tradition, but we also realise that every individual has their own health limits to consider. Therefore, we will make available an e-rickshaw option for any individual requiring assistance with their Vraj parikrama. We strive to ensure that these individuals will be treated with dignity and respect, without judgment.
There is no bus or private vehicle transport to the top of where the Temple is, so you can reach the Barsana Radha Rani Temple via bikes (₹100 per person), ropeway or stairs.
We believe trust is a resource; that's why we provide this service without hidden costs, rushing you to your destination or making unplanned stops along the way. We are proud to support our guides in providing you with transportation around Braj as if we were escorting our own family members.

The itinerary generally includes Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, Dwarkadhish Temple, Banke Bihari Temple, ISKCON Temple, Nidhivan, Prem Mandir, and other important temples depending on darshan timings.
Many temple lanes in Vrindavan are narrow and restrict private vehicles. Visitors normally reach temples by walking or using e-rickshaws, which is the most convenient local transport.
