Rewari to Vrindavan Distance: Routes and How to Travel

By Gurudutt, Experience My India·16 September 2026

Rewari to Vrindavan Distance

Quick Answer

The distance from Rewari to Vrindavan is about 163 km by the fastest route and about 151 km by the shortest; the drive takes roughly three hours by the quick way. As Rewari lies south-west of Delhi, the fastest route is by the Western Peripheral Expressway joined to NH 44, which skirts the city; interestingly, the shorter NH 44 route, at about 151 km, is slower at about four hours on ordinary roads. Being one of the closest of the Haryana cities to Braj, Rewari makes a very easy short day trip to Krishna's land, reached in a comfortable morning's drive. The return, Vrindavan to Rewari, is much the same, about 161 km. All times are approximate.

Rewari to Vrindavan distance: an overview

From Rewari, the Haryana junction town south-west of Delhi, the town of Krishna at Vrindavan lies only about 151 to 177 km to the east, depending on the route, roughly three to four hours by road. The quickest way, about three hours, is by the Western Peripheral Expressway joined to NH 44; as Rewari lies south-west of the capital, this western ring road is the natural way to skirt Delhi and reach Braj and is faster than the shorter direct road on NH 44, which is slower on ordinary roads. Being one of the closest of the Haryana cities to Braj and near the Rajasthan gateway, Rewari makes a very easy short day trip to Krishna's land. As Rewari is a major railway junction, the train is also an option. This guide gives the routes both ways; and if you would like the drive, the darshan and the e-rickshaw arranged, a mathura vrindavan tour with Experience My India can plan your day.

From the ground (Gurudutt): For my guests from Rewari, Braj is really close, only about three hours by the Western Peripheral Expressway. Being south-west of Delhi, take the western ring road, which slips you past the city onto the highway; do not take the plain NH 44, which is shorter but slower. Come in the morning, do the Mathura and Vrindavan temples and you are home by evening, even an easy half-day if you start early. Radhe Radhe.

The routes from Rewari to Vrindavan, with approximate distance and time:

About 3 hr 22 min

Via NH 44 (shortest)

About 151 km

About 4 hr

The Western Peripheral Expressway and NH 44 route is the fastest at about 3 hr 3 min, though longer at about 163 km, using the western ring road to skirt Delhi; and the NH 44, though the shortest at about 151 km, is slower at about four hours on ordinary roads. So the longer expressway route is the quicker choice. Times are approximate and depend on traffic; please check live maps before you set off.

Vrindavan to Rewari: the return

The return, Vrindavan to Rewari, is much the same. The options:

Distance

Time (approx)

Via NH 44 and the Western Peripheral Expressway (fastest)

About 161 km

About 3 hr 14 min

Via NH 44, the Western Peripheral Expressway and NH 919

About 156 km

About 3 hr 26 min

Via NH 44 (shortest)

About 151 km

About 4 hr 2 min

The NH 44 and Western Peripheral Expressway route is again the fastest for the return, at about 161 km and just over three hours; the plain NH 44, though shortest at about 151 km, is a little slower. As on the way out, the expressway route is the quicker choice. Treat these as guide figures and check live traffic before you leave.

The routes: expressway versus direct

The key to the Rewari to Braj journey is choosing the western expressway over the shorter direct road:

  • The expressway route (longer but faster). The route by the Western Peripheral Expressway, the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal or KMP Expressway that rings Delhi to the west and south, joined to NH 44, skirts the capital's traffic; as Rewari lies south-west of Delhi, it is the natural, quick way and though about 163 km, the fastest at about 3 hr 3 min.

  • The direct road (shorter but slower). The NH 44 is the shortest at about 151 km, but runs on ordinary roads and through the busier stretches, so it is slower at about four hours; it is the direct line, but the expressway route is quicker and easier.

  • A good, quick drive. The expressway is a fast, smooth toll road, so keep your FASTag ready; the drive of about three hours is comfortable and easily done in a day, one of the shortest of the Haryana journeys to Braj.

Where the road reaches the Braj end, our agra to vrindavan distance guide covers the approach to Mathura and Vrindavan.

Best ways to travel: road and rail

For this short, quick haul, Rewari gives you good choices:

  • By car (best). About three hours by the Western Peripheral Expressway, doable easily in a day or even a half-day, with the freedom to see Vrindavan and Mathura together, only about 14 km apart; a comfortable day trip. Fares vary, so ask us for a live quote.

  • By train. Rewari is a major railway junction on the main lines and trains connect it towards Mathura Junction, the station for both Mathura and Vrindavan; a restful option, though you may need to check connections, from where an auto or e-rickshaw takes you on. Check current trains on IRCTC.

  • By bus. Buses run from Rewari towards Delhi and Mathura; the budget option, though slower and less direct than a car.

For the drive from the Delhi side and fares, see our delhi to mathura vrindavan distance taxi cost guide and for arriving by train, our tundla to vrindavan distance guide covers the region's railheads.

What to see in Braj, best time and tips

When you reach Braj, the great sights await:

  • In Vrindavan and Mathura. See the beloved Banke Bihari, the marble Prem Mandir with its evening light show and the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan; and the Krishna Janmabhoomi, the Dwarkadhish temple and the Yamuna ghats in Mathura, only about 14 km apart.

  • Best time. October to March is the most pleasant season for the drive and the darshan, with cool, comfortable weather; start early so you reach the temples before the midday closing and being so near, you have the day at your ease.

  • Tips. Take the Western Peripheral Expressway route for the quickest drive; in the old towns, cars are kept out of the lanes, so park at the edge and take an e-rickshaw for the temples; see Vrindavan and Mathura together for a full day of Braj.

See the banke bihari temple, prem mandir vrindavan and iskcon temple vrindavan in Vrindavan and the krishna janmabhoomi, dwarkadhish temple and braj yamuna ghats and leela sites in Mathura.

We welcome pilgrims from Rewari and across Haryana to Mathura and Vrindavan, with a comfortable vehicle, the temple darshan and the e-rickshaw arranged and a Braj-born guide. A shared day tour starts from around ₹1,499 per person, with darshan free. Rewari · 10 July 2026

"We booked the Same Day Mathura Vrindavan Tour Package with Experience My India and had a lovely experience from beginning to end. Since we were travelling from Rewari, the short road journey made this package very convenient for our family. The team helped us cover the important places in both Mathura and Vrindavan comfortably in a single day. Banke Bihari Temple, Prem Mandir, Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Yamuna ghats were the main highlights. We especially appreciated the local arrangements around the temple areas, where e-rickshaws made commuting much easier. Gurudutt ji was very helpful and stayed connected throughout the trip. Everything was well coordinated, and we returned home the same evening with beautiful memories of Braj."

"Our 2 Days Mathura Vrindavan Tour Package with Experience My India was a peaceful and well-organised family pilgrimage. Having two days made a big difference because we could enjoy the temples without feeling that we had to rush through every visit. We had wonderful darshan at Banke Bihari Temple and spent a lovely evening at Prem Mandir. Krishna Janmabhoomi and Dwarkadhish Temple in Mathura were equally meaningful for our family. The local travel arrangements were handled very smoothly, and the team gave us clear guidance whenever needed. Gurudutt ji was polite, patient and genuinely helpful throughout the journey. We were very comfortable with the overall arrangements and communication. Experience My India made our Braj yatra simple, devotional and memorable."

"We recently travelled with Experience My India on the 3 Days Mathura Vrindavan Tour Package, and it became one of our most memorable family trips. The three-day itinerary gave us enough time to experience Mathura and Vrindavan at a relaxed pace instead of trying to cover everything in one hurried day. Banke Bihari Temple, ISKCON Temple and Prem Mandir were some of our favourite places in Vrindavan, while Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Yamuna ghats added a beautiful spiritual side to the Mathura visit. We also appreciated having time for the wider Braj experience. Gurudutt ji was extremely supportive and made the journey comfortable for everyone. The planning and coordination by Experience My India were excellent. We came back feeling peaceful and grateful for the experience."
