Premanand Maharaj Ji is perhaps the most sought-after sant in Vrindavan today and I want you to go with a realistic, respectful picture. The honest reality first: his health is serious, he is on regular dialysis, so the darshans and especially the morning Padyatra are often limited, altered or paused. Do not set out on a long journey without checking his official Bhajan Marg channel for that day’s status, this one step saves the most heartbreak. When things are running, the way in is simple and completely free: the pre-dawn morning Satsang, and, for a personal dialogue, a free token requested in person at the ashram counter with a written question and your ID. Nobody can sell you a meeting, so never pay anyone who claims they can. We at Experience My India help with the journey and the early starts; the darshan itself is free and yours to receive directly. Go with patience and devotion. Radhe Radhe.
The honest reality to understand first
Before the practical details, one framing matters more than any other and it is kinder to say it plainly. Premanand Ji Maharaj has ongoing kidney health issues and follows a regular dialysis schedule and as a result, heading into 2027, his public darshans and his famous early-morning Padyatra are strictly limited and are often paused or altered. The ashram rightly places his health and routine first.
What this means for you as a devotee is simple but important: you cannot assume that the schedule you saw in a video or an old article will be running on the day you arrive. Sessions may be scaled down, the Padyatra may be paused and arrangements can change at short notice. So the single most valuable thing you can do is check his official digital channel, Bhajan Marg, for live status updates before you travel, ideally the day before and again on the morning of your visit. Going with current information and with the understanding and patience that a senior saint’s health deserves, is what separates a peaceful, meaningful visit from a disappointed one. Everything that follows, the where, the when and the how, should be read through this lens: structured avenues that apply when his health permits, confirmed against the official channel.
Where to find him: the ashram and seclusion sites
The primary place to meet Maharaj Ji is his main ashram: Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj, on the Parikrama Marg in Raman Reti, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, opposite the Bhaktivedanta Hospital (also known locally as the Bhaktivedanta Hospice) and near Varaha Ghat. This is the hub of the daily discourses and the token process and it is where most devotees go. (For the exact address, landmarks and the narrow-lane navigation, see our separate guide to the ashram’s address.)
It is worth knowing that he occasionally spends periods away from the main ashram at his newer, quieter setups, at Belvan (across the Yamuna, Yamuna Paar) or at Sobhakund (Sobrivan). These are seclusion sites where he may retreat for rest or practice and they are not general public darshan venues in the way the main ashram is. Mentioning them simply helps explain why, on some days, he may not be at Raman Reti at all, another reason the official daily status matters so much. For planning purposes, treat the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj ashram in Raman Reti as your destination and let the official channel tell you whether darshan is happening there on your date.
How to reach Vrindavan
Getting to Vrindavan is straightforward and the ashram sits in the Raman Reti area in the south of the town, on the Parikrama Marg.
By train. The nearest major railway hub is Mathura Junction, about 15 km away. From the station, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws and cabs run to Vrindavan and the Parikrama Marg. See our how to reach vrindavan guide.
From Delhi by road. It is roughly a 3 to 3.5-hour drive from Delhi via the Yamuna Expressway. See our delhi to vrindavan distance guide for routes and times.
Because the inner lanes of Raman Reti are narrow and cars cannot easily reach the ashram gate, the last stretch is best covered by e-rickshaw or on foot, ask for “Premanand Maharaj ka Ashram” or “Radha Keli Kunj”. Crucially, since the morning darshan is pre-dawn (gates as early as 3:00 AM) and the token counter is at about 9:00 to 9:30 AM, staying in or near Raman Reti the night before makes the early starts realistic; see our where to stay in vrindavan guide. For the rest of your time, our places to visit in vrindavan guide covers the town’s temples.
The ways to have his darshan (when health permits)
Darshan rules are highly dynamic, but when his health permits, the structured avenues are these.
Morning Satsang and Aarti. The gates can open as early as 3:00 AM and the line forms well before dawn, so come very early. The core morning discourses typically occur between about 4:15 AM and 7:00 AM. This is the main way the general public attends and it does not need a personal token in the way the dialogue does, though you should arrive in the small hours to get a place.
The Padyatra (walking darshan). His famous pre-dawn walk, on which devotees gather along the route for darshan as he walks, has been one of the most accessible ways to see him, but it is exactly the activity most often paused or altered by his health, so confirm it on the official channel before relying on it.
Ekantik Vartalap (personal spiritual dialogue). This one-on-one dialogue cannot be booked online. You request a token in person at the ashram counter, usually around 9:00 to 9:30 AM, for the following day. For such private meets you must submit a written spiritual query and carry a mandatory physical ID (Aadhaar card for Indians; passport or OCI card for NRIs and foreigners). Slots are very limited, so a token is never guaranteed.
Treat all of these as the general pattern that applies when his health allows and confirm the current day’s arrangements on the official Bhajan Marg channel. (Our separate transactional guide covers the token process and timings in full detail.)
Who is Premanand Ji Maharaj
Knowing his story deepens the meaning of a visit. Premanand Ji Maharaj (born 1969) is a highly revered saint of the Radhavallabh Sampradaya, the tradition that emphasises Sahchari Bhav and Nitya Vihar Ras, the eternal, intimate loving service of Radha and Krishna. His whole life is given to Radha Bhakti.
His path has been one of deep renunciation. After adopting sanyas (the renounced monastic life) at a young age, he spent years living as a strict ascetic on the ghats of Varanasi, before moving to Vrindavan under spiritual guidance. His teachings focus strictly on Naam Jap (the chanting of the holy name), humility and selfless love and he is known for direct, uncompromising, practical guidance rather than comfortable words. What moves devotees most is that he maintains a gruelling daily schedule of spiritual discourses despite severe health struggles and regular dialysis, giving of himself freely at real physical cost. This is why he is held in such profound regard and why the ashram so carefully protects his limited energy. Approaching him, then, is approaching a living ascetic saint, with the humility and patience that calls for, not booking an appointment with a public personality.
Crucial rules for devotees
A few rules are non-negotiable and following them is both respectful and practical.
It is 100 percent free. There is absolutely no fee, no VIP ticket and no online booking shortcut to meet Maharaj Ji. Every darshan and dialogue is free. Therefore, anyone asking for money to guarantee a meeting, online or near the ashram, is a fraudster. Never pay for access; it cannot be legitimately sold.
No electronics. Mobile phones, smartwatches and cameras are strictly banned inside and are collected at the ashram entrance. Plan for this: carry as little as possible and do not expect to film or photograph the discourses or Maharaj Ji.
Dress code and etiquette. Dress modestly, traditional attire is preferred and maintain complete silence while waiting inside the ashram premises. Follow the volunteers who manage the queues.
These rules protect the sanctity of the ashram and Maharaj Ji’s limited energy, so observe them willingly. The free-of-cost rule in particular is your shield against the most common scam around popular sants: if money is being asked to “arrange” or “guarantee” a meeting, walk away. The genuine path, the free morning Satsang and the free, in-person Ekantik Vartalap token, is open to every sincere devotee equally.
Planning your 2027 visit realistically
Putting it together, here is how to plan a visit sensibly in 2027. First, accept that there is no advance booking and no fixed calendar you can reserve, the process is in person and day-to-day and it bends around Maharaj Ji’s health. Second, build your trip around checking the official Bhajan Marg channel: decide your dates, then confirm, close to the time, what is actually running.
Be mindful of the festival calendar. Around major festivals such as Radhashtami, Krishna Janmashtami and Guru Purnima, Vrindavan and the ashram see extreme crowds and darshan windows often scale down or change, so for a calmer, more realistic chance, consider visiting outside these peak periods. Stay in or near Raman Reti so the pre-dawn Satsang and the morning token counter are easy to reach. Keep your expectations gentle: on some days you may have a beautiful darshan, on others the sessions may be limited or paused and both are part of visiting a saint whose health comes first. A visit also pairs naturally with the rest of Vrindavan, the famous banke bihari vrindavan temple, the iskcon temple nearby and the vrindavan parikrama route the ashram sits on, so your trip is rewarding whatever the darshan status. A ready-made plan helps you time it all; see our mathura vrindavan tour plan.
Let a Brajwasi plan your visit
A visit to Premanand Maharaj Ji is best done with local help for the practical side, the travel and the very early starts, while the darshan itself stays completely free and direct, as the ashram intends. As Brajwasis running Experience My India, we help devotees reach and manage the visit: arranging transport and an e-rickshaw for the narrow Raman Reti lanes, suggesting a stay nearby so the pre-dawn Satsang or the morning token counter is realistic, helping you plan around the current Bhajan Marg status and the festival crowds and pairing the visit with Banke Bihari and the other Vrindavan temples so your trip is rewarding whatever the day’s darshan status. To be completely clear, in the spirit of the ashram’s own warning: we only ever charge for travel services such as transport, stay and guiding and we never sell or guarantee any meeting, token or darshan, which are always free and received by you in person. A shared Mathura and Vrindavan darshan starts from around 1,499 rupees per person; see our mathura vrindavan tour. Message us on WhatsApp at +91-7302265809 with your plans.
