Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School (BGIS)

Founded in 1976 by ISKCON’s founder Srila Prabhupada, BGIS is an expansive 100-acre residential campus ranked among India’s top boarding schools. Located within the beautifully manicured 50-acre Vatsalya Gram campus, under the guidance of Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji, this pioneering institution is famous as India’s first all-girls Sainik school. It is girls only (though day-boarding or non-Sainik options can vary across the wider trust campus). The curriculum combines the CBSE board with rigorous military-style discipline, obstacle courses, shooting ranges, physical sports and classical Indian ethics. Saral Bhagwatam Gurukulam

A highly revered traditional school near the main Vrindavan bus stand, Saral Bhagwatam Gurukulam emphasises complete immersion in Sanskrit literature and the fundamentals of the Srimad Bhagavat Purana. It is completely free and donation-based: the institution covers standard educational material, living quarters and food through the trust’s public funding. For families who want a committed, scripture-first environment without fees, it is a notable option and as a newer institution, its programme and intake are worth confirming in person.
