How to Reach Vrindavan from Gurgaon or Noida - Distance, Route & Travel Guide 2026

Quick Answer

All the pilgrimage journeys available to residents of the Delhi NCR, the Vrindavan trip is the most accessible. At 130 km from Noida and 140-180 km from Gurgaon, Vrindavan - the sacred town where Lord Krishna spent his childhood, on the banks of the Yamuna in western Uttar Pradesh - is close enough for a day trip and meaningful enough to justify a two-day stay.
The challenge is not the distance. It is the details: which expressway to take from your specific starting point, which bus boarding location saves 30 minutes, what time you must arrive at Banke Bihari Temple to avoid the peak crowd and - most critically - the fact that private cars cannot enter the inner lanes near Keshi Ghat and the main temples. Pilgrims who arrive by car without knowing this drive in circles before parking 1.5 km away and walking in the heat.
I am Gurudutt, founder of Experience My India, born in Braj Bhoomi and guiding NCR pilgrims to Vrindavan since 2018. My team has helped 50,000+ pilgrims make this journey. In this guide you will find the exact road routes from both Noida and Gurgaon, the direct bus services with boarding points, the train combination route and the ground-truth realities about arriving in Vrindavan that no cab aggregator publishes. Call +91-7302265809 when you are ready to plan.

Gurgaon to Vrindavan - Complete Route Guide
Distance: ~140-180 km depending on route | Travel time: 2 to 3.5 hours
Gurgaon does not have a single direct expressway to Vrindavan the way Noida does. The correct route depends on your exact location in Gurgaon. There are two main options:
Route Option 1 - Via FNG Expressway + Yamuna Expressway (Recommended for North Gurgaon / Cyber City / DLF)
Gurgaon (North - Cyber City, DLF, MG Road)
↓ NH-48 or Dwarka Expressway toward Delhi (15-20 km)
↓ FNG Expressway (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) → toward Noida

↓ Yamuna Expressway entry at Pari Chowk
↓ Yamuna Expressway (90 km) → Mathura Exit
↓ SH-33 → Vrindavan
Total: ~170-180 km | ~2h 30m to 3h 30m
Route Option 2 - Via Sohna Road → Palwal → Yamuna Expressway (Recommended for South Gurgaon / Sohna Road / Golf Course Ext.)
Gurgaon (South - Sohna Road, Sector 56, Golf Course Ext.)

↓ Palwal → Yamuna Expressway entry
↓ Yamuna Expressway (55 km) → Mathura Exit
↓ SH-33 → Vrindavan
Total: ~140-150 km | ~2h to 2h 45m (often faster than Route 1)
Gurgaon Route Comparison Table
Route | Total Distance | Typical Time | Toll (approx.) | Best For |

📌 Experience My India field note: For Gurgaon pilgrims, we recommend a 5:30 AM departure via the Sohna Road route (for South Gurgaon) or 5:00 AM via FNG (for North Gurgaon). Arriving by 8:00 AM gives you the quiet Banke Bihari morning session. Our cab service picks up from your Gurgaon hotel or sector - call +91-7302265809 for pricing.

Important - the last mile from bus drop to Vrindavan: Most buses from NCR drop passengers at Mathura Raya Cut / Vrindavan Toll Plaza on the Yamuna Expressway - which is approximately 10-12 km from Vrindavan's town centre. From this drop point, you need to take a local shared auto-rickshaw (₹20-₹40 per person) or an e-rickshaw (₹30-₹50) into Vrindavan. Travel time from the toll drop to Banke Bihari Temple area: 20-30 minutes.
Some buses run directly to Mathura Bus Stand - from there, shared autos to Vrindavan depart every 10-15 minutes (₹25-₹40, 30 minutes).
📌 Experience My India field note: Bus travel from Gurgaon or Noida works well for individuals and couples. For families with elderly parents or children, the last-mile auto-rickshaw segment - managing luggage plus a shared vehicle plus Vrindavan's narrow lanes - adds significant complexity. Our cab service eliminates all of this. Call +91-7302265809 for rates.
By Train - How to Combine Metro + Rail from NCR
There is no direct train from Gurgaon or Noida to Mathura/Vrindavan. However, the train is a viable and often comfortable option using a Metro + Rail combination.
Metro + Train Route from Gurgaon
Gurgaon (any point)
↓ Delhi Metro Yellow Line → Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) or New Delhi (NDLS)
[Metro time: 40-60 minutes from most Gurgaon stations]
↓ Express train to Mathura Junction (BSB)
[Trains: Taj Express 12280, Gatimaan Express 12050, Shatabdi 12002]
[Rail time: 1h 45m - 2h 30m]
↓ Mathura Junction → Vrindavan
[Shared auto: ₹25-₹40, 30 minutes]
Total journey: 3h - 4h door-to-door
Metro + Train Route from Noida
Noida (any sector)
↓ Delhi Metro Blue Line → New Delhi or Rajiv Chowk → transfer → Hazrat Nizamuddin / NDLS
[Metro time: 45-70 minutes from Noida Sec 15/18/62]
↓ Express train to Mathura Junction
[Same trains as above]
↓ Mathura Junction → Vrindavan by shared auto
Total journey: 3h 30m - 4h 30m door-to-door
Key Trains - Delhi to Mathura (for NCR Visitors)
Train | Train No. | From | Departure | Mathura Arrival | Duration | Fare (2S/CC) |
Taj Express | 12280 | Hazrat Nizamuddin | 7:15 AM | 9:20 AM | 2h 05m | ₹185 (2S) |
Shatabdi Express | 12002 | New Delhi | 6:15 AM | 8:22 AM | 2h 07m | ₹795 (CC) |
📌 Experience My India field note: The train option is best for solo pilgrims or couples who are comfortable with the Metro + train + auto combination. For groups of 4 or more, the cost of a private cab becomes competitive once you add four individual train fares plus the Metro cost plus the last-mile auto from Mathura to Vrindavan. Call +91-7302265809 - we help you compare the actual total cost for your group size.
Last Mile - Getting Into Vrindavan After You Arrive
This is the section most NCR visitors do not read until they are already stuck in a lane with a car and no way forward.
Private cars and larger vehicles cannot enter the inner lanes of Old Vrindavan - the streets around Banke Bihari Temple, Keshi Ghat and Nidhivan are 3-5 metres wide. Four-wheeled vehicles are restricted from approximately 500 metres before the main temples.
Parking and Last-Mile Options
Arrival Mode | Where to Park / Alight | Distance to Banke Bihari | Last Mile Option | Cost |
Private car | Vrindavan bypass parking (near Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg) | 1.2 - 1.8 km | Walk or e-rickshaw | ₹20-₹30 e-rickshaw |
Private cab | Same as above or Keshi Ghat parking lot | 1.0 - 1.5 km | E-rickshaw | ₹20-₹30 |
Bus (dropped at Mathura Raya) | Yamuna Expressway toll area | 10-12 km to Vrindavan centre | Shared auto to Vrindavan, then e-rickshaw | ₹25-₹50 |
Train (Mathura Jn) | Mathura Junction | 12 km to Vrindavan | Shared auto ₹25-₹40 or cab ₹150-₹200 | ₹25-₹200 |
Inside Vrindavan - correct transport: E-rickshaws are the standard vehicle inside Vrindavan. They navigate the narrow lanes, know every temple entrance and cost ₹10-₹20 per short hop or ₹300-₹400 for a full-day hire. Agree on the full-day rate before boarding - do not pay per trip if you plan to cover multiple temples.
📌 Experience My India field note: Our Gurgaon and Noida pickup cab service drops pilgrims directly at the correct parking point for Vrindavan's inner lanes - no circling, no wrong turns. Our guide meets the group at the parking point and handles the e-rickshaw hire for the day. Call +91-7302265809.
What Time to Depart for a Perfect Vrindavan Day
The most common NCR visitor mistake: departing at 8:00 AM from Gurgaon or Noida and arriving at Vrindavan at 11:00 AM - 30 minutes before the temples close for the afternoon.
Recommended Departure Times by Starting Point
Starting Point | Depart By | Expected Arrival | What You Get |
Noida (via Yamuna Exp) | 6:00 AM | 7:45-8:15 AM | Banke Bihari morning session (opens 7:45 AM summer) + Nidhivan + Keshi Ghat |
Gurgaon South (via Sohna) | 5:30 AM | 7:45-8:30 AM | Same as above |
Gurgaon North (via FNG) | 5:00 AM | 7:45-8:30 AM | Same as above |
Any NCR point (weekend) | 30-45 min earlier than weekday | Same target arrival | Accounts for weekend NCR traffic |
Temple closing reality: Banke Bihari Temple closes at 12:00 PM (summer) and 1:00 PM (winter) for the afternoon break. Nidhivan closes before sunset - strictly no entry after 8:00 PM. Pilgrims arriving at 10:30 AM have 1-1.5 hours before afternoon closure. Pilgrims arriving at 8:00 AM have 3.5-4 hours of the full morning session.
The ideal one-day Vrindavan itinerary from NCR:
Time | Activity |
Depart NCR | 5:30-6:00 AM (see table above) |
7:45-8:00 AM | Arrive Vrindavan - park, e-rickshaw to Banke Bihari |
8:00-9:30 AM | Banke Bihari Temple darshan (before peak crowd) |
9:30-10:30 AM | Nidhivan + Seva Kunj forest walk |
10:30-11:30 AM | Radha Raman Temple / Madan Mohan Temple |
11:30 AM-1:00 PM | Lunch + Keshi Ghat boat ride (₹50-₹150) |
1:00-4:00 PM | Rest / shopping in Banke Bihari Bazaar (temples closed) |
4:30-6:00 PM | ISKCON Temple + Prem Mandir |
6:00-7:30 PM | Keshi Ghat Yamuna Aarti (6:30 PM daily) |
7:30-9:00 PM | Prem Mandir fountain show (7:30 PM winter / 8:00 PM summer) |
Depart for NCR | 9:00-9:30 PM |
Ground Truth - What Nobody Tells NCR Visitors About This Journey
1. Weekday vs weekend - the difference is 45 minutes of driving, not 15. Google Maps shows NH-19 and the Yamuna Expressway as fast roads. On a Saturday morning between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway entry and the Yamuna Expressway toll at Jewar add 30-45 minutes to any estimated travel time. Depart 45 minutes earlier on weekends than on weekdays.
2. The Banke Bihari crowd on weekends is 3x-5x larger than on weekdays. On a Tuesday or Wednesday morning, Banke Bihari darshan takes 10-15 minutes. On a Saturday between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM, the same darshan takes 90-120 minutes with physical crowd pressure. If you are making a one-day trip and cannot choose your weekday, target the 7:45 AM-9:00 AM window before the weekend crowd peaks.
3. The Yamuna Expressway toll at Jewar can have 10-15 minute queues on weekend mornings. The Jewar toll plaza on the Yamuna Expressway is the primary bottleneck on the NCR-Vrindavan route. FASTag reduces this to 2-3 minutes - ensure your FASTag is loaded before departure. Pilgrims without FASTag in the FASTag lane are turned back, adding 20 minutes to find a cash lane.
4. Vrindavan's inner lanes are impassable for cars - and this surprises nearly every first-time NCR driver. Google Maps will route your car directly to Banke Bihari Temple. What Google does not show is that the final 500-800 metres of that route involves a lane that is 3 metres wide, shared with e-rickshaws, cows, pilgrims on foot and occasional tractors. Private cars physically cannot proceed. Know your parking point before you enter Vrindavan - not after.
5. Bus drop at Mathura Raya Cut means you still have 12 km to go - but this is not widely stated on booking platforms. Every major bus aggregator shows the destination as "Mathura" or "Vrindavan" without clearly stating that the drop point is the Yamuna Expressway exit, not the town centre. The 12 km from the Raya Cut to Vrindavan requires a local auto. Factor 30 minutes and ₹30-₹50 into your bus journey plan.
Experience My India builds all NCR-to-Vrindavan itineraries around these exact realities. Call +91-7302265809 - our guides know every bottleneck on this route.
Conclusion
The journey from Gurgaon or Noida to Vrindavan is one of the most accessible sacred trips available to any NCR resident - 130-180 km on well-maintained expressways, with multiple transport options and the full Braj pilgrimage circuit waiting at the other end.
